Eleanor E. Young

Ms. Eleanor E. Young  of Reading, PA, passed away on Saturday July 15, 2017 in Laureldale, PA. She was 96 years old. Eleanor was born on August 2, 1920 in Camden, Delaware. During her life time she worked as a cook. Eleanor was always dressed elegantly from head to toe.  She couldn’t wait for Sunday Morning Services.  She was a member of Zion Baptist Church for more than 50 years, serving as a member of the Zion Tones Choir.  She enjoyed traveling with her family and loved family gatherings.  She is survived by two siblings; Alphonso Miles and Phyllis Kennedy of Dover, Delaware along with four generations of loving nieces, nephews.  Eleanor will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last illness.  Special thanks to Connie Katzin and Cindy Branch her devoted and close friends and Joan White for her volunteer services. A funeral will be held on Monday July 24, 2017 at Zion Baptist Church of Reading. 224 Washington Street, Reading, PA 19607. The viewing will begin at 10:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, 1119 Centre Avenue Reading, PA. 19601.
