Ernestine Hairston

Ernestine Hairston passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, at the age of 72. Once a longtime resident of Philadelphia, Ernestine worked for twenty years in the Philadelphia School District, assisting children with special needs. She is survived by her son, Lenif Abney; daughter, Nika Edwards; sister, Sophia Griffin, and many other relatives. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Mount Airy Church of God in Christ, where she was an active member for ten years. The viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m., with service to follow at 11:00 a.m. The interment will be held at Chelten Hills Cemetery, 1701 E. Washington Lane, Philadelphia, PA.
