Jeffrey Glen Smith

Jeffrey Glen Smith transitioned on Tuesday April 16, 2019 in Maryland. He was 59 years of age. Jeffrey  was born on June 23, 1959 to the late William Lee and Ora Lee Smith Sr. Philadelphia, PA. Jeffrey was a loving husband to Carmella Smith who he enjoyed 17 happy years of marriage. Jeffrey attended Christian parochial school and public school in Philadelphia; he graduated from Olney High School. Jeffrey was an excellent basketball player in High School, he was on the All American Team and the High School All Star Team. Jeffrey got accepted to several colleges for his basketball talents.Jeffrey was employed at several corporations in Philadelphia, one of his favorite jobs was at McNeil Consumer Products, where they produced Tylenol and other products, he worked there for many years.Jeffrey accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior early in Life and later rededicated himself to the Lord. Jeffrey attended High Street Church of God, and he attended West Oak Lane Church of God in Philadelphia, under the leadership of Bishop C. Milton Grannum and Reverend Horace Sheppard, Sr.Jeffrey loved to travel, he enjoyed sports and claimed himself to be Barbeque King in the family (so he thought:). He was a die heart “Eagles Fans”. Jeff was definitely a family man, he loved his family. Jeff was at every family event, he would start making his plate to go as soon as he arrived. Jeff was also known as “HAPPY”.  He was always smiling with those big Hazel green colored eyes, you never saw him sad, and he was always trying to make you laugh by cracking his jokes. He will be sorrowfully missed by his family and friends.Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, William Lee & Ora Lee Smith Sr., Siblings;Delores, Williams Jr., Joan, Steven. He leaves to cherish: his wife; Carmella, one son; Jeffrey, two daughters; Bridgette and Jennifer, five grandchildren; Cianni, Cydney, Kiyon, Corey and Miles. Three siblings; Joyce (Hartzog), Carol (Hunter), Kathleen (Parks), three brother in-laws; Barry, Keith Sr., Charles Sr., one aunt ;Margaret Leonard, one uncle; Roland Leonard Sr, one great aunt; Sadie Baker, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday April 25, 2019 at Mount Airy COGIC 6401 Ogontz Avenue 19126. The family will gather at 10:45 am and the service will follow at 11:00 am. Official funeral services will be held in Maryland. Please remember the family in your prayers.
